      The metal pivoting L-arm disc wall sconce puts a stripped-down disc base against the wall and hangs a well-proportioned L-shaped arm from it, ending in a focused LED downlight. The arm is articulated at both ends for tilt and rotation, so the beam can be aimed at a book, a chair or a stretch of wall instead of washing the whole room. An unobtrusive switch sits on the base itself.

      Construction is metal throughout, finished in black, white, gold or sand nickel, and the light source is an integrated LED rather than a replaceable bulb. Warm, neutral and cool color temperatures are produced for this fixture, with warm light and a Triac warm dimming version offered here. If you choose the dimming version, use a Triac dimmer switch for smooth, flicker-free control; it is also compatible with a common push button switch, which is not included in the box.

      The fixture measures 11 in in diameter by 9.4 in deep (28 by 24 cm) and mounts to a round canopy plate of 4.7 in (12 cm), a footprint that suits a pair either side of a bed, a hallway rhythm or a reading nook in a contemporary or transitional scheme. Wiring is hardwired at AC 110-240V, so an electrician is worth booking. The piece is rated IP20 and is intended for dry indoor locations only.
